Bharath in ‘Vaanam’ with Simbu

The calls for multi starrer movies in Tamil are being taken seriously and two young super stars have belled the cat. Silambarasan and Bharath are the innovative young stars who have turned a new leaf in the history of contemporary Tamil cinema.

Bharath has agreed and been signed as the other hero in the recently launched movie ‘Vaanam’ which has Silambarasan playing one of the lead roles. ‘Vaanam’ is the Tamil remake of the much acclaimed Telugu film ‘Vedam’.

Apparently it was Silambarasan who had called Bharath to do the role played by Manoj in the original Telugu version. A happy Bharath says he loved ‘Vedam’ and so immediately agreed when Silambarasan called.

With the young guns showing the way will the industry change for the better? Even biggies like Sarath Kumar, Arya have recommended multi starrer films to bring back the people to theatres.

‘Vaanam’ started rolling from last week has Anushka playing the female lead. The film is directed by Krish. Nirav Shah is the cameraman and Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director.

‘Endhiran’ music label under wrap

The shooting of ‘Endhiran’ is complete last week and good news followed soon from Shankar. AR Rahman has handed over the final mix of the songs and they have come great. Now all the eyes and ears of fans are on the music launch which is happening in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia.

But with just two weeks before the official launch of the music it is still not revealed which music label will release ‘Endhiran’ songs. But our sources say the audio rights of ‘Endhiran’ have been sold in the whopping range of around Rs. 7 crores. Even the fiery music ‘Raavanan’ was sold at a much lower price. The massive price given to ‘Endhiran’ music rights is a new benchmark in south Indian film industry.

The audio of ‘Endhiran’ will be released in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in a never before star studded event on July 31 this year.

What annoys you in Facebook? ( One of my favourite post from Makkez.com )

It’s been a long long time since I blogged something related to Friendster and I don’t think I would be doing that any longer. Those were the days when Friendster used to be a hit in our country but not anymore. The evolution of Facebook had plunged Friendster down the list and I don’t think any of my friends cares about it for now, even myself.

Talking about Facebook, I got attracted to it due to the following reasons:

- The status update

- The photo commenting option

- The simplicity

- The seriousness

- And not forgetting the non-existence of bandwidth-hogging features

While there are many things that could get myself attached to Facebook for hours, here are some of the things that annoys me:

1) Annoying “Status Update”

Every morning, when I open up my Facebook, I expect to see some nice photos of some chicks being tagged, some random albums and even some nice and funny status updates. But no matter what, there would always be some status updates that annoy me to the max, let alone if it floods your homepage. Here is an example of “a” status update: (The following is a real case)

An Indian girl (Let’s call her Nisha):

Nisha Guys, what do you think about my picture? Do I look fat? ^=^

9 minutes later

Nisha Guys, I changed my profile pic! How do I look now? ^=^

6 minutes later

Nisha Thanks for all the comments guys. Please go through my profile pictures and let me know which picture I should put okay? Hugz and kisses to all!! ^=^

Again, 9 minutes later

Nisha @some-asshole suggested that I should put the current picture! Thanks to him because I love it too!! Huggsss to you da! muax muax

So, by the time I opened my Facebook, there would be like 4 status updates by the same person flooding my homepage. To best describe my feelings in a picture, click on the following spoiler. A picture speaks a thousand words.

2) Status vandalism

Some people just love to ‘like’ their own status and only god knows why. For every status that they put, regardless of there are any comments or any other ‘likes’, the very own person who posted his/her status would be liking it instantly. Also, guys should always be extra-careful when liking the status updates of some Indian girls. When a girl posts something to indicate that she has just broken up with her super-duper-loving BF, guys who liked her status can either be:

1) Liking the fact that she is now vulnerable

2) So-called “showing concern”

So, if Nisha mistakenly assumes that the guy is of category (2)

Nisha Thanks for your concern da.. You are so sweet

Be prepared to post the same status in 2 months time.

3) Dislike

Seriously, I can’t wait for this feature to be implemented. Once this is up, I bet I would use this feature more often compared to the “Like this”.

4) Double standard

Yes, double standard. Let’s say there is a guy who posts a status saying “Good morning friends! Love you all” and check back his status within 12 hours time and what will you see? 0 comments. But when a super-duper-hot-clubbing-girl posts the same status, check back within 12 hours and you will see “46 comments” with the last comment by a guy saying:

“Good night da, sleep well ok? *Hugz*”.

Although this “issue” doesn’t seem to be annoying, but I really do feel pity for those guys who posted in the intention to gain some comments and interaction via his posting but in the end, no one bothered about his status. Our machan buta.com.

5) Pillows, Gifts, Pets and etc

My profile is currently flooded with all these shits, especially those ‘pillow fights’, gifts, wishes and all those crap. Come on guys, don’t you think it’s damn annoying if you happened to view someone’s profile, clicking on the “Older posts” at least 5 times and all you get is a bunch of pillow fights, gifts and wishes? For god sake, THIS IS FUCKING ANNOYING! There is a solution, which is to block the application straightaway but these things come in different versions (gifts, hearts, postcards, smiles) and sooner or later there would be some additions as follows:

6) You have been tagged!

Oh finally one of my friend uploaded a group picture and tagged me. That is what I “expect” to think whenever I see the “You have been tagged” notification. But wait, instead of a group picture, there would be a picture of a puppy or a pussy and around 100 people would be tagged all over. All sort of comments would be making its way instantly and by the time I re-opened my Facebook, there would be like 20+ notifications, all indicating that XXX and YYY has commented on this photo.

- Oh thank you!

- Wow so nice the pussy

I wondered to myself, why the hell on earth do people gotta ‘thank’ for being tagged in an unrelated photo?

As always, my reaction would be:

More and more celebrities feel the need to communicate with their fans through social networking sites on the Internet. After Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Mohanlal, it's now Shriya Saran who went on Twitter recently. Earlier an impostor posing as the celebrity actress made life difficult for her.

“This person, who was using my name and photograph to tweet, made them look like they had been posted by me,” Shriya said. Within a few days, she has over 6,500 followers in her Twitter account. Her Twitter id is 'shriyasmiling'.

Maran throws party to Rajini, Shankar

It was a grand dinner party for the cast and crew of ‘Endhiran’ in Chennai recently, to celebrate the successful completion of the multilingual; multicrore extravaganza’s shoot which went for almost two years.

And the host was none other than Kalanithi Maran, chairman of Sun TV Network, whose film production and distribution arm Sun Pictures has produced the movie on a ‘never before budget’.

The dinner was attended by almost all those who had worked for ‘Endhiran’, including Superstar Rajinikanth and director Shankar. When Maran entered the hall, he was welcomed by Rajini with a bouquet and a warm hug.

During the dinner, both Shankar and Rajini expressed confidence that the movie has come out well and will be a trendsetter. “Endhiran will be one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema” Rajini said.

Earlier, while canning the last shot, a huge cake, which had the letters ‘Endhiran Shoot Wrapped’ engraved in it, was cut by the unit members. Sun Pictures chief Hansraj Saxena, cinematographer Rathnavel and art director Sabu Cyril were also present.

‘Kaavalkaran’ becomes ‘Kaaval Kadhal’

The title of Vijay’s forthcoming film, which is a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’, is not ‘Kaavalkaran’ as guessed by many. The movie directed by Siddique has been named ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’.

And this has been confirmed by no lesser person than Asin, who is the heroine of the film. “A major portion of ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’ has been shot. I am happy about the shaping up of the movie,” she said.

The actress, who is making a reentry into south Indian cinema with this 51st film of Vijay, added: “Siddique is a highly respected director and Vijay is a top hero. Working with them is no doubt a delight.”

Meanwhile, it is said that the muhurat of the actor’s next project, tentatively titled ‘Velayudham’, will be held at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium on July 15. “Around 10,000 Vijay fans are expected to attend the mega event,” sources say. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, ‘Velayudham’ will be directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja.

Vijay’s third film by Lingusamy

Vijay is galloping. The actor wants to get back to his original glory as soon as possible and so he is signing spree. This year may have the most releases of Vijay in a year like never before.

‘Kaaval Kadhal’ with Siddique is almost ready. ‘Velayudham’ will have a magnificent launch on July 15 and will immediately start rolling. At the same time, sources say Vijay has also decided on what his third film will be.

According to the sources, Vijay's next film after ‘Velayudham’ will be the one directed by Lingusamy and produced by Cloud Nine Movies. This producer-director team worked magic in ‘Paiyaa’ and would want to recreate the same success story again with Vijay.

This leaves a question behind. What will happen to the politically correct film of Vijay that was to be written and directed by Seeman?

Dhanush's new interests

There were enough reports in media about the Hari directed film that stars Dhanush. Media titled the new film 'Aruva', Sivagangai and many others. However, our sources say the films is not yet been titled and still at story discussion level.

And where is the story discussion happening? It is happening in Kodaikanal. Hari usually discuss and develop his story sitting in Chennai. Then what took him to Kodaikannal and have a hush discussion?

There comes the story. The reason for Hari's shift of base is because Dhanush was also joining the story discussion at the hill station. Dhanush who is taking every opportunity to train and mould himself as a future director took part in the discussion with Hari and team for five days.

Dhanush is trying every thing that would make him a good director. He is even said to have written a song in the film 'Aadukalam' for music director Vijay Antony.

SECRET BEHIND SURIYA'S SUCCESS

Suriya was questioned in a recent interview to a magazine as to how he proved to be a successful actor when several of his contemporaries have failed. The actor replied that there are various factors for his successful run at the box office. He says that the timing of the release, hard work, commitment and such other factors are vital for the film’s success.

Suriya also pointed out that it is his choice of roles that ensures success. The star says that he is particular that he does not opt for repetitive roles and get caught in the image web.

Ash gets Rajini’s blessings

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan not just took Superstar Rajinkanth, but the entire ‘Endhiran’ unit by surprise, when she touched the top actor’s feet to seek his blessings during the last day of the shooting of the film last week.

According to reports, the former Miss World found it hard to leave the place (Sun Studios on the outskirts of Chennai), as she became very close to each and every member of the cast and crew of the movie which was shot for almost two years.

“After the last shot was filmed, Aishwarya touched the Superstar’s feet seeking his blessing. Rajini, who didn’t expect this, was shocked initially but soon composed himself and blessed her,” reports said.

Now that the shooting has been completed, Sun Pictures, the producers of this multicrore extravaganza, is getting ready for the release of the film. The initial focus is on the audio launch which is slated to happen at the end of this month in Malaysia.

Vikram-Sasikumar film gets a title

The film produced by Vikram and directed by Sasikumar is 90 per cent complete. The film progressed all the stages so far with out a title.

The film is using a working title. Sasikumar film' for all its purposes till now. Now Sasikumar and company have thought of a title and are seriously considering it. The title under consideration is 'Aaga Chiranthavan’, which means the 'Best of the Bests'.

Moreover, more, according to sources, producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies is likely to acquire the rights over this film.

Vijay in trouble again?

Recently, Tamil Nadu theatre owners and distributors unanimously decided to demand refund of a portion of the amounts they invested in Vijay's 50th film Sura, since it bombed at the box office. Now, since the actor has failed to fulfill the demands of theatres owners, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners' Association will be proposing a boycott of his next film at their forthcoming executive committee meeting.

Let's wait and watch what unfolds off-screen! It may be more interesting than what happens on-screen!
