Avan Ivan heroine to star with Amitabh Bachchan

Madhushalini who was seen in Bala’s Avan Ivan has signed her next project Department in Hindi being directed by Ramgopal Varma. According to sources, Department will be a final part of Sathya and Company and is set against the police and underworld nexus. Madhushalini’s role will be pivotal and would be that of a female gangster alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubaati.

Talking about her role, Madhushalini says, “My character is highly daring, ambitious and will stop at nothing to get her way. I am also nice as long as people keep me in good humor and would turn very dangerous if I am antagonized.”

The Avan Ivan star is very excited about the prospect of doing a film directed by Ramgopal Verma and also to star along side the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Madhu begins her shooting for Department from the 1st week of September.

7aam Arivu will take place on September 22nd and not on September 10th

Grapevine has it that the audio launch of 7aam Arivu will take place on September 22nd and not on September 10th as announced earlier. It is said that the audio launch may take place either at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai or in Malaysia and that it will be a very grand affair.

Further, the audio launch event will be telecast live on Sun TV, says sources close to 7aam Arivu. The film is a magnum opus with Suriya and Shruti Haasan playing the lead roles and AR Murugadoss directing it. Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies is producing this film.

Kamal’s Nanbargalum 40 Thirudargalum

Kollywood is abuzz with the news that Kamal Haasan, Crazy Mohan and Prabhu are coming together to make a comedy flick. Grapevine has it that the film has been titled Nanbargalum 40 Thirudargalum.

It is worth mentioning here that the trio joined hands for Vasool Raja MBBS, a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Munna Bhai MBBS, and the film was a smash hit. Nanbargalum 40 Thirudargalum will be produced by Sivaji Productions.

Sources in Kollywood say that Kamal may commence this film once he wraps up Viswaroopam, which went on floors this week. More details about this project is expected to be made soon.

Mankatha on August 31! Release details in here

Ajith’s biggie ‘Mankatha’ is much-expected by those in the film industry and the masses worldwide. The film made headline again today as the newspaper ads today didn’t publish the release date, August 31, but rather had the words ‘Coming Soon’ which led to much speculation and trade was abuzz that the film might see a change in release date!

However, Dhayanidhi has confirmed the release date as August 31 and you can take a look at tomorrow’s ‘Mankatha’ newspaper advertisement in here that also says the release date as August 31.

It is said that Radaan has sold the movie for a good deal at all areas in Tamil Nadu and now negotiations are on for NSC which has the highest demand for this Thala Ajith’s 50th offering. Theatres where the movie has been sold has been booked for thirty days, say sources in the know.

It is said that the film will see a worldwide release on August 31, and will go overseas with subtitles! However, the release date in Kerala is yet to be confirmed, and when it is, we’ll be sure to break the news you…

Rajini’s next is Dheera?

Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Sultan – the Warrior has undergone a name change once again. The film was initially titled Sultan – the Warrior and then it was announced that it has been renamed as Hara. It was said that the title was changed in order to get the entertainment tax exemption.

The latest on this film is that the title has once again been changed and the filmmakers have decided on Dheera this time around. As there will be two Rajinis in this film – one animated and the other real – and one of them is called Dheera, it has been decided to use that name as the title.

There is also a talk that the film will be completed before Rajini gets on with Rana. Soundarya Rajinikanth is working on this project meticulously as it involves a lot of computer graphics.

Velayudham song list!

‘Velayudham’, featuring Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Genelia D’ Souza and Hansika Motwani is directed by Jayam Raja and music is by Vijay Antony. The film will see an audio launch in a big scale on August 28 at Madurai.

The film has six tracks that are tuned by Vijay Antony who has earlier given a few chartbusters for Vijay.

‘Rathathin Rathamay…’ is crooned by Haricharan and Madhumitha, ‘Molachu Moonu….’ is sung by Prasanna and Supriya Joshi, ‘Chillax…’ is by Karthik and Charulatha Mani and ‘Mayam Seidhayo…’ is by Sangeetha Rajeshwaran. ‘Sonna Puriyadhu…’ is the longest track in the album and is sung by Vijay Antony and Veera Shankar whereas ‘Vela Vela Velayudham…’ is crooned by Vijay Antony and Mark. ‘Vela Vela Velayudham…’ is the track that one gets to hear in the trailer of this biggie.

The audio launch is said to take place at a grand scale with about 150 cars assisting Vijay from Madurai airport to the venue, CSI Grounds in Madurai. It is also said that the music composer will perform live at the venue!
