The first look of their upcoming Tamil film 3 has generated a huge hype in the film industry and has made the movie buffs to claim that they are the next best on-screen jodi of Tamil cinema. Sources say that Dhanush and Shruti Hassan will share a passionate kiss in 3. When director Aishwarya Dhanush was quizzed about their intimate scene, she did not confirm nor deny it and said that it was too early to discuss about. She claims that if the script demands, the actors would share a lip-lock.

Actress Gandhimathi passed away

Renowned south film actress, Gandhimathi passed away in Chennai this morning, due to sickness. Gandhimathi has suffered cardiac problems from a couple of years which forced her to stop acting in films and confine to television serials. She passed away at her residence this morning.

Gandhimathi has various blockbuster films to her credit, including 'Walter Vetrivel', 'Karakattakaran' and 'Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi'.

Gandhimathi has acted in more than 300 films in Tamil and other southern languages. Her performance in '16 Vayathinilae' was much appreciated by critics. Those from the film industry are paying a visit to her residence to offer their condolence to Gandhimathi's family.

I receive tons of mails daily, from my beloved fans, stating how much they adore us, PSYCHO.unit, as their idol and role models. We really appreciate your love and support, as they are priceless and they motivate us to keep moving and doing what we do best.

Most of our fans happen to be school students, and they are just as passionate as us, when it comes to making music, which we truly support, as we appreciate art as well as the people who love it.

However, we feel from the bottom of our hearts, that these students should instead focus more on their studies, while they can. Education is important as a stepping stone towards a bright future.

Imagine this: you score good grades at school, and you are entitled for scholarships, which can bear the costs for your tertiary education. This in return, would reduce the burden for your parents when it comes to financing your college/university course.

This is just one example of how focusing on your studies would help not only you, but also your parents whom you love so much. Apart from that, being a well-educated person would shape you to be a more responsible and successful individual in the near future. This is what every parent would be happy to see. Even my mum always wanted to see me as an academical achiever. I'm proud to state that I AM A DEGREE HOLDER ( disappointed that my dad is not here to share this happiness) , and so are my brothers at PSYCHO.unit.

Always remember the importance of education and the happiness of your beloved family, while they are still with you. I am not discouraging anyone from doing music as we need a lot of musicians in Malaysia, but be sure to excel in your studies first before you step into the music world.

Personally, i would support anyone who has talent, and i would whole-heartedly be ready to help you if i can. But please do complete you studies first, at least A DEGREE, to meet current standards. Trust me, you would feel proud of yourself, and your family would too.

Vairamuthu calls on Rajini

Rajinikanth is back in good health after successfully undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments at a Singapore hospital. This has been confirmed by lyricist Vairamuthu, who had met the top actor recently.

‘Rajini is perfectly alright. And he is in a very good mood, cracking jokes and analyzing things in his own style,’ said the Kaviperarasu, who met the Superstar at Sri Ragavendhra Kalyana Mandapam.

‘Rajini has fought a big battle with destiny and won it finally. I am sure that he would long live with good health. The Superstar was so touched by the affection showered on him by his fans when he was not well,’ he added.

Vijay against Corruption in Velayutham

We all know that Vijay is playing the role of a milkman in Velayudham but little less we know about his other avatar. The movie, which is against corruption, shows the actor as a vigilante.

Sources close to the production house claim that Vijay will have simple looks in the milkman’s role, which is set in village. But his character will completely change, when he comes to city .

Director Jayam Raja says that,” Velayudham is a different from other vigilante movies like Indian and Anniyan. The film-maker feels that he has done the movie in his own style and the audience will surely like the story of this messiah of the society”.

The movie produced by Venu Ravichandran is made with the budget of Rs. 45 crore.

Priyamani clarifies on glamour

Priyamani is apparently irked at a section of her critics who say that she is doing glamorous roles even after winning the coveted national award.

‘Is there any rule that I should not wear glamourous attire just because I won a national award,’ she asks.

‘I know the value of a national award and I respect it a lot. But at the same time, acting is my profession and I am here to do whatever the director expects from me. I don’t want to elaborate further,’ she says.

Bomb Blast on S V Sekar’s house

Unidentified miscreants hurled petrol bombs at the residence of popular actor, dramatist and former legislator S V Sekar at Mandaveli in Chennai on late Monday.

The otherwise calm area witnessed a big noise in the midnight of Monday. When residents and inmates of Sekar’s house came out after hearing the sound, they saw a car in front of the actor’s residence damaged in the attack.

The Police department was immediately alerted and higher officials rushed to the spot and conducted thorough investigation. Teams have been formed to nab culprits and security has been given to Sekar’s house, sources add.

NEP shooting in Nungambakkam

Gautham Menon’s new flick ‘Neethaane Ponvasantham’ brings Jeeva and Samantha in the lead roles. The shooting of the film is currently progressing at Cafe Coffee Day in Nungambakkam and the shooting will be continuing in Chennai till September 24th.

Later to this schedule the cast and crew will fly to London to shoot later portions and a couple of songs. ‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham’ will be a trilingual release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Jeeva is playing the lead role in Tamil version while Ram in Telugu version and Adithya Roy Kapoor in the Hindi version. The beauty actress Samantha is doing the female lead role in all the three versions.

A.R Rahman is expected to be score music for the film. M.S Prabhu is handling the cinematography and editing by Anthony.

Kumar and Jayaram of RS Infotainment will present this film produced by Photon Kathas Production.

Amala Paul has good reception in Telugu film industry

Amala Paul debuted in the film Sindhu Samaveli and became popular by acting in the film titled Myna. She also acted in the film Deiva Thirumagal which has also fetched her a good name. Amala Paul for quite some time was yearning to act in a Telugu film. She also wanted to become popular there.

Now she was lucky enough to get an offer. The Tamil film Muppozhuthum Un Karpanaigal in which Amala Paul is pairing with Murali’s son Adharva is also being made in Telugu. The film is titled Nirantharam Nee Voohale. Amala Paul has been signed to do the female lead role in this film.

Once Telugu producers came to know that Amala Paul has been signed for a Telugu film, they started approaching for her call sheet. Amala who was not startled by seeing the recognition she got there said that she will commit new Telugu films only after seeing the results of Nirantharam Nee Voohale after its release. No marriage in near future: Reema Sen

Reema Sen is miffed that a leading Tamil newspaper carried news with her quote that she is all set to tie the knot soon.

Speaking to tamilkey.com from Mumbai, she clarifies: “First and foremost, I have not spoken to any Tamil daily. Why do people speculate about my marriage, when I have made it clear that the first people I speak to, after my wedding is fixed will be the media?”

Last week, Reema was spotted sitting in the front row, cheering for her boyfriend Shiv Karan Singh who was walking the ramp for fashion designer Rajvi Mohan in the capital.

Suriya’s ‘7am Arivu’ to be a Deepavali treat to his fans

Actor Suriya’s upcoming film ‘7am Arivu’ is likely to clash with Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ on Deepavali. The two stars, who starred together in films like ‘Friends’ more than a decade back, are all set to vie with each other for garnering the public’s attention on 26th October this year.

While ‘Velayudham’ has Genelia and Hansika opposite Vijay and has been directed by ‘remake’ king ‘Jayam’ Raja, Suriya’s ‘7am Arivu’ has been directed by the diminutive A.R. Murugadoss and pits the debutant Shruti Haasan opposite Suriya. ‘Velayudham’ is said to be a wholesome commercial entertainer whereas ‘7am Arivu’ would be a never-before kind of film in Tamil cinema.

Suriya plays the triple roles of a scientist, a Buddhist Monk and a Circus artiste in the film which has been set in various periods of time. The talented and pretty Shruti Haasan would also be making her much-awaited debut in this film as a heroine. With her looks and grace, she would surely be luring the Tamil youths in the days to come, predict observers.

The audio launch of ‘7am Arivu’ has been scheduled to be held at the Chennai Trade Center on the 22nd September, at 6.00 PM. It’d be a grand ceremony attended by the bigwigs of the Tamil film industry. The producer, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has promised some high voltage performances during the event.

Actress Kajal Agarwal has acted in few Tamil films including Naan Mahan Alla, Palani and Saroja. Currently she is pairing with Surya in the film titled Maatraan. Her Telugu film Magadheera was a mega hit.

Seeman arrested! - Breaking News

Filmmaker Seeman who is also a renowned activist and the founder of ‘Naam Thamizhar Iyakkam’ has been arrested for conducting a rally, requesting the prevention of three death sentences in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, the accused being Santhan, Murugan and Perarivalan.

Seeman’s main objective through his movement is to eradicate death sentences and protect humanity; he also expressed in earlier press meets that the three accused have already spent more than two decades in prison which is equal to two life sentences.

He conducted a rally today with hundreds of others and since the rally was conducted without prior permission Seeman was arrested by the cops.

Ajith Kumar's Mankatha crosses 10 cr mark in 5 days

Mankatha, which received mixed response from the critics, is heading for a recording breaking collection at Box Office. The movie has garnered an estimated Rs.10 crore in five days. Traders say that the movie, which was released last Wednesday, has raked in Rs. 6.78 crores in Tamil Nadu at the Box Office for the five-day extended weekend.

In Chennai alone, it has collected close to Rs. 2.75 crore. While multiplexes recorded a healthy 78-85% occupancy, single screens registered 90-95%. It has also been welcomed in the UK, Malaysia and Singapore

Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan and Arjun Sarja starring Mankatha is directed by Venkat Prabhu. The movie tells the story of five men, who lay their hands on gambling money, fights, when it comes to dividing it.

Vijay warns his fans

Some of Vijay’s fans have incurred his wrath by creating posters that show him as a God. The star was shocked to find such posters during the Velayutham audio launch in Madurai and immediately called upon his fans and asked them to remove the offending posters.

Vijay also issued a warning to all his fans who indulge in such mischievous acts. He has said that he understands that his fans are from different caste, creed and religion and their sentiments must not be hurt on any account. He has requested his fans to stop doing such things in future and threatened stern action if this is repeated.

Mayakkam Enna preponed to Sep 30 ?

Ace director Selvaraghavan had announced through Twitter that his forthcoming film Mayakkam Enna starring Dhanush and Richa will release for Diwali.

However after seeing the gargantuan opening for Ajith’s Mankatha, during Ramzan-Vinayaga Chathurthi holiday season, he has now preponed his release to September 30, for the Vijayadasami long weekend.

According to sources in trade, there was an emergency meeting between director Selvaraghavan and Gemini Film Circuit (GFC) on Saturday where they decided to prepone the release of the film from Diwali to Sep 30

The film which has Dhanush, Sundar and Richa in the lead is almost complete with just a few patchwork and part of a song remaining.

The post-production work on the film is complete and the audio with music by GV Prakash will be launched next week.
