Will the Vijay-Suriya clash be averted?
Director AR Murugadoss has said that the Vijay starrer Thuppaki which he is directing now will be released on August 15th. The shooting of this film is fast in progress in Pune with just a few songs to be shot.
It has been announced already that Suriya’s Maatraan is also aiming for the same release date.
Sensing that the films may clash at the box office, director AR Murugadoss has said in a social networking site – Baby go farther and play. Perhaps, he is indicating that Thuppaki is dangerous and people might get hurt when in its vicinity?

Tamannah is busy in Tollywood although she is being seen lesser and lesser in Tamil films. Recently Tamannah mentioned that her name is being misused in the social networking sites. Apparently there is a fake account called Tamannah Bhatia in Facebook that had garnered a huge fan following.
"I do not have account in any social networking sites and I would like to let my fans know that the account in my name in Facebook is fake," Tamannah was quoted as saying.

Ajith, who is said to b the ‘King of Openings’ will screen his Billa 2 on 13th of this July, 3 weeks after Karthi’s Saguni has hit the theaters. Parvathi Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah are playing the lead ladies for Ajith in Chakri Toleti directed Billa 2.
Sunir Kheterpal produced Billa 2 has acquired A certificate by the censor board and Aascar Ravichandran will be presenting the film under his Aascar Films banner that will released in about 500+ screens only in Tamil Nadu.

Thuppariyum Anandhan is the upcoming movie in the combo of Gautham Menon and Suriya, after Vaaranam Aayiram. Thuppariyum Anandhan will portray Suriya in early MGR aura, says Gautham Menon.
The ace director Gautham Menon, who is busy with his bilingual movie Neethane En Ponvasantham, has recently announced his next with Suriya. Spilling beans on Thuppariyum Anandhan Gautham Menon said, “Suriya will be playing a romantic detective in Thuppariyum Anandhan with a look in MGR aura.” “Thuppariyum Anandhan is a thriller revolving around Suriya and is a period flick that was set in early 30’s.”
Gautham Menon was penning the script from past four years and reportedly has met Suriya, but did not take shape as the latter was busy with his commitments. Now that Suriya has given his nod Gautham Menon has announced Thuppariyum Anandhan that will hit the floors in 2013, after Gautham Menon’s Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru with Vijay and Suriya starrer Singam 2 with director Hari.
Director change for Vikram’s Karikalan
Karikalan was the mostly talked movie and a period flick that stars Chiyaan Vikram and Zarine Khan in the lead roles, which has now opted for the director change.
Director Kannan has earlier finished 25% of shooting of Karikalan that was put on hold due to some unavoidable reasons and Vikram happened to move towards his next film Thaandavam with director AL Vijay, Anushka, Lakshmi Rai, Amy Jackson, Jagapathy Babu et al in the pivotal roles.
Latest we hear makers of Karikalan has chosen Gandhikrishna to take over the directorial from Kannan, while the reasons are not unveiled. Let us wait to see whether Karikalan will be revived soon, as Vikram is done with the shooting schedules of his Thaandavam.
Suriya in remake of Kamal’s Sakalakala Vallavan
Suriya, the handsome and the most happening actor in the south has reportedly expressed his interest to play the lead in the remake of yesteryear’s film Sakalakala Vallan, donned by Kamal Hassan.
Kollywood tinsel town is buzzing that, Suriya has expressed his desire to remake Sakalakala Vallavan to producers and they have thoroughly approached AVM for the remake rights of the movie Sakalakala Vallavan, who have produced the film earlier in 1982. But AVM Productions refused to sell the remake rights and instead they have come front to remake it with Suriya.
Makers will soon come out with an official announcement about the cast and crew details and if everything goes fine, Suriya will be seen in dual roles soon. Director SP Muthuraman has wielded the megaphone for the original Sakalakala Vallavan that has many chartbusters composed by maestro Ilayaraja.
Meanwhile Suriya is busy with his KV Anand directing Maatran with Kajal Agarwal as his female lead.
Vikram-Shankar’s I tidbits
Chiyaan Vikram is all set to start his next film with Shankar, after the star has recently wrapped up the talkie portions of his upcoming action entertainer Thaandavam with Anushka, Lakshmi Rai and Amy Jackson.
Samantha will be pairing opposite Vikram in this political thriller that is titled as I. AR Rahman will be composing the music tunes and background scores for I that will soon hit the floors from 15th of this July. Ascar V Ravichandran will be producing I under his Aascar Films banner.
Story of I revolves around the politics, especially on the loopholes of elections. Writer duo Suba will pen the dialogues, PC Sreeram will crank the camera, Muthuraj will handle the art direction, Antony will take care of editing department, while stunt master Anal Arusu, Peter Ming, Mary Vaggt forms the remaining crew of I.
Meanwhile Vikram is gearing up for the audio launch of AL Vijay directed Thaandavam in July that is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures, followed by movie release in September.
Kamal to sing for Nakul-Thaman’s Vallinam
Vallinam is the upcoming movie based on sports, which features Nakul and Mridula in the lead roles. Latest on it is director of Vallinam has preferred Kamal Hassan to give his vocals for a song in the film.
Eeram fame Arivazhagan is helming Vallinam that will have music tunes and background being scored by SS Thaman. While Thaman has already composed four of its songs crooned by Simbu, Thaman, Nakul and Andrea Jeremiah one each, director Arivazhagan is keen to have the fifth song and the crucial one in the movie to be sung by Kamal Hassan.
Director has reportedly approached Kamal to sing this number, seeking his voice would suit the track best and Ulaganayagan seems given his nod. The song falls in the climax scene while the finals of breath taking basketball match is taking place. If everything falls in the right time, soon we can here a song in Kamal’s vocals.
