Thala Ajiths Billa 2 songs completed

Thala Ajith’s Mankatha has been called his “Style Statement” and quite fittingly so the movie has made a stylish opening at the box office despite his bold choice of donning a negative role for his big golden offering, second to his calling out for the disbanding of all Ajith fan clubs. While Mankatha is busy creating new records, his current ongoing project Billa 2 has some fresh updates.

The shooting for Billa 2 was being held in the Pondicherry region with its scenic landscapes offering enough opportunity to get the cameras rolling right away. The movie has been briskly progressing and has now completed its first shooting schedule. A spicy dance sequence has been completed with Yuvan Shankar Raja providing the tingling elements.

Director Chakri Toleti is in acceleration mode as he plans to resume the next leg soon i.e. in Goa after which the crew is expected to fly to the Russian nation, decidedly for the foreign locales.

Mamta Mohandas, the hottest babe from Mollywood will be getting engaged in just a couple of months. This has been confirmed by a family member of the actress. Mamta Mohandas who graced Malayalam films has built a cozy place for herself in the hearts of the audience who watch her films.
Mamta Mohandas will be getting engaged to a longtime family friend who is based in Bahrain. However details on the name of the groom as well as his whereabouts are strictly under wraps and the family will be divulging more details only post the actress' engagement, reveal sources in the know.

The wedding will most probably be fixed in the first half of 2012. There were reports earlier doing the rounds that Mamta Mohandas's parents were on the look for Mr. Perfect for their daughter, and now their search seems to have ended. The actress has worked with the top names in the Malayalam film industry.

The actress also has a Tamil film in the pipeline titled 'Thadaiyara Thaaka' where she will be seen sharing screen space with Arun Vijay.

Asin aiming for a permanent place in Bollywood

While many actresses fashionably claim that they became actresses by sheer ‘accident’, it may not be the case with actress Asin who is said to have taken a conscious decision to enter the movie-world and try out her luck.

It is reported that Asin’s family owns many factories in her native Kerala. It is also said that Asin is more than adept in managing them but still wanted to become an actress to give vent to an inner desire that had been there ever since her childhood. She wanted to satiate her hunger to emote on screen and entered movies.

Asin became a popular actress in Tamil and Telugu within a short span of time before going over to Bollywood where she had a dread debut in ‘Ghajini’ opposite Aamir Khan, the ever-green superstar of Bollywood. Her career, though, has taken a bit of a battering after that, with her latest film ‘Read’ doing some damage-control by having a decent enough run in theatres

In her effort to make it big in Hindi films, she is said to be rejecting the many Telugu and Tamil film offers that she had been getting. She did ‘Kavalan’ in Tamil early this year but hasn’t committed to herself to star in any Telugu or Tamil film after that. This video takes you on a journey of this beautiful country, from rural to urban, across different landscapes and people. The strong connection between Malaysians of different races and cultures convey a single message of 'united we stand'.

We were given the opportunity to pitch for this video and a timeline of only 10 days to shoot, edit and put it on-air on the eve of the Malaysian Independence day. Looking at our vision of the vastness for this video, it looked impossible but with clever production planning and great team work, my team delivered a real gift to all Malaysians on the eve on Merdeka.

Silambarasan aka STR never shied away from the fact that he is one of the greatest fans of Ajith. He had supported the star in several issues in the past and has always shared a good rapport with him.

Director Venkat Prabhu has said that STR has canceled the Osthi film shooting in Mysore just to be in Chennai to watch Mankatha on the first day it hits the silver screens.

Prakash Raj out of Maatraan

Suddenly there is a walkout of villain from the sets of Maatraan last Saturday. Prakash Raj who is playing baddie in Maatraan has unexpectedly dropped from the film due some reasons.

KV Anand is busy shooting for the film in ECR last week and Prakash Raj has walked out to the director and informed him that he is not happy with his make-up, especially the wig that his character had to wear in the film where he plays a powerful villain. But director Anand who is known as Mr. Perfectionist has asked conveyed Prakash Raj that this style of make over is important for the character he is playing in the film. Behind the curtain there were also issues regarding call sheets between the two.

It is confirmed that Prakash Raj is no more apart of the film and by this incident taking place the shoot got cancelled for two days. Anand within no time has roped in noted Bollywood character actor Sachin Khedekar in Prakash Raj’s place. Sachin has recently played the role of Amala Paul’s father in Deiva Thirumagal.

Maatraan features Suriya and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles and is taking shape at a brisk pace. Suriya will be seen younger through this film and he is also expected to play multiple avatars.

Yuvan Shankar Raja marries Shilpa in Tirupati

One of the leading music directors in Tamil cinema, Yuvan Shankar Raja son of of maestro Ilayaraja tied the knot with Shilpa at Tirupati temple today (September 1) morning.

Yuvan, who was married to Sujaya Rao was divorced a year back and since then his family was looking out for the right girl from a good family. Shilpa is a qualified doctor by profession.

Close family members like Mankatha team of director Venkat Prabhu and his brother Premgi Amaran were also present.

The others who were there at the wedding included director Vishnuvardhan and his wife Anu, producer Sathyajyothi Thyagarajan, designer Vasugi Baskar actors Vaibhav, Aravind, Parthi Baskar, Mirchi Shiva, Subbu and others.

Velayutham breaks all records!

In a press statement Ashok Parwani, Sony Music Entertainment Chennai, said, “We are overwhelmed with the response the movie and the music have received. Velayudham has broken all records and we have sold all our units within a day of its launch. The soundtracks are original, soulful and memorable. We’re sure that the compositions will go down in history as some of the best melodies of our times.”

The audio launch held in Madurai on August 28th was a grand success with over one lakh Vijay fans attending the event. And to add to this success, all the audio CDs were sold on day one of the audio launch. This has created a new record!

Music director Vijay Antony has scored the music for Velayutham and the six tracks in the film are: Rathathin Rathamay (Haricharan, Madhumitha), Molachu Moonu (Prasanna, Supriya Joshi), Chillax (Karthik, Charulatha Mani Mayam), Seidhayo (Sangeetha Rajeshwaran), Sonna Puriyadhu (Vijay Antony, Veera Shankar), Vela Vela (Vijay Antony, Mark).

Vijay - Gautham Menon film goes international

Vijay's film with Gautham Menon entitled Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru is currently one of the most discussed projects, even though shooting has not begun yet and the film is still in the planning stages.

The latest on the film is that location scouts are busy zeroing in on possible places to shoot the film. Gautham Menon's films like Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and VTV required the team to travel abroad to shoot portions of the film. New York is a favored destination for this director and for VTV, Gautham Menon even shot in Malta. Vijay's character in the film requires him to fly to all corners of the globe and hence massive chunks of the film will be shot in different parts of the world.

Shah Rukh Khan Vs Suriya Vs Vijay

Two more months from now, it’s gonna set everyone on high fever of Kollywood here. Guess what? The festive occasion of Diwali will have the most anticipated flicks hitting screens together. Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ has been under making for a very long time. As mentioned by both Vijay and director Raja, the film will hit screens on Oct 26, 2011 for the occasion of Diwali.
Suriya starrer ‘Ezham Arivu’ will join the bandwagon and will have a big release as Sun Pictures has more creative means of promoting and marketing the film. The film’s audio launch will be launched shortly by next month. The film’s first look posters have already evoked more interests on the film.

The celebration doesn’t end with Kollywood as there will be a big release in Bollywood, which will be Shah Rukh Khan’s sci-fi thriller ‘Ra.One’.

Apart from these releases, Dhanush’s ‘Mayakkam Enna’ and Silambarasan’s ‘Osthi’ is also scheduled for the release on same day.

Karthika to sign a big film in Kollywood

Tall and dusky beauty Karthika, who shot to fame with KV Anand’s KO, is undoubtedly the biggest find of the year for Tamil cinema. By now any other actress would have signed a dozen films by seeing the success track but that doesn’t seem the situation with Karthika.

It looks like Karthika is taking guidance from her mother Radha as she waited patiently for her next. Buzz is that the actress is being launched in Bollywood by comedy king David Dhawan. Apart from that her mother is in negotiations with atop rated director in Kollywood and the film is said to have a top star in the lead role. In fact the filmmakers are in plans of roping in Trisha or Anushka but however they came to KO girl Karthika.

It is revealed that the actress has given bulk dates to the director. However both mother and daughter are tightlipped regarding this project.
