Hansika gets mobbed by fans in Chennai

Nothing succeeds like success.

Hansika is on cloud nine after the success of Velayudham. Her Engeyum Kadhal may have garnered a mixed response but her sparking performance was not overlooked.

And last Sunday, Hansika who got a break while shooting for Vettai Mannan hoped that she could get away with some shopping at the EA Mall in Chennai.

But the actress had to retreat in a hurry when the crowd including fans went berserk. They gathered around an accessory store where she was shopping and tried to break the glass panes.

Soon security was called in and Hansika had to be escorted to her car.

Hansika is excited about Vettai Mannan in which she plays a gangster. Quiz her about the character and she laughs: “My look is different in the film and I love it. Back home, my mom calls me a little gangster, so I guess I play myself in the film. I am so happy that instead of being typecast, I am getting all sorts of roles. After all I love preparing for a role and doing something different”.

Shruti has cried many times after seeing my films: Kamal

‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan has revealed that his elder daughter and actress Shruti Haasan has shed tears many times after seeing his performances in films. “Yes, my daughter has cried many times after watching my films,” he has confessed.

The mightily-talented and multi-faceted Shruti Haasan debuted in films first by a Hindi flick Luck which didn’t prove lucky enough for her at the box-office. She also debuted later in Telugu but again, her debut film fizzed out. However, she had a bright debut in Tamil films as heroine through 7am Arivu opposite Suriya.

The film, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, has been running to packed houses all over the State and elsewhere as it nears the 50-day mark later this week. She is also happy that the song Why this kolaveri di from her upcoming film 3 opposite Dhanush has hit the bull’s eye and has become such a rage among the youths. Shruti pairs up opposite Dhanush in this film, directed by Dhanush’s wife Aishwarya, who makes her directorial debut with this film.

Shruti has seen her father Kamal Haasan’s films like Mahanadhi and Gunaa at least 20 times. Whenever she used to watch those films, she would sob uncontrollably, apparently pained at the plight of her father (in the film, of course!). One thing is for sure: Shruti doesn’t need to go anywhere for tips on acting!

Gautham and Manoj will join hands

Director Gautham Menon and cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa were in conflicts when Manoj decided to join Shankar for Endhiran leaving Gautham in a fix. Gautham was reported to have vowed not to work with Manoj again. But all this has come to an end now. Yes, Gautham and Manoj will join hands for Yohan – Adhyayam Ondru. Sources say that it was Ilayathalapathy that brought back the two together. It was he who suggested to Gautham that Manoj would be the apt choice for the film. With Vijay vouching for Manoj, Gautham decided to sign up Manoj for Yohan Adhyayam Ondru.

Special award for Engeyum Eppodhum Director

Director Saravanan has been a major reason for the success of his mentor A.R. Murugadoss. The filmmaker made his debut directorial with the film Engeyum Eppodhum. The film has been winning incredible laurels and indeed good collections in box office.

Human Rights Organization in Paramakudi has arranged for a special gathering that will honor director Saravanan for making a movie based on social issue about accidents and road safety measures. The event will be attended by Thousands and Lakhs of members in this Organization on December 18.

Engeyum Eppodhum stars Jai, Sarvanand, Anjali and Ananya in lead roles.

Santhanam turns hero?

The latest buzz doing rounds in Kollywod is that Santhanam might venture to do hero role in the Tamil remake of Telugu hit Mariyadhai Ramannan. he original featured popular Telugu comedian Sunil as hero.

When quizzed, Santhanam, says, ‘ I am getting quite a lot of offers to do films as a hero but right now, I don’t think I should take that route. There were even offers to do remakes of successful Telugu films like Maryada Ramanna’.

Santhanam turns hero?

‘They would have suited me, but I have been fairly successful playing a comedian and I would rather like to continue in this vein. Also, I don’t have the time right now to concentrate on a solo hero project,’ he explains.

Santhanam is currently busy acting in half-a-dozen movies as comedian.

Vijay to sing for G.V. Prakash?

After Vikram and Dhanush, music director G.V. Prakash is all set to make Ilayathalapathy Vijay to sing in their upcoming flick which will be directed by director Vijay.

The actor is currently shooting in Mumbai for Thuppakki, directed by A.R. Murugadoss. After the completion of Thuppakki Vijay is likely to team up with Madarasapattinam Vijay for an entertainer which will have GV as the music director.

And now it looks like GV is all set to make Vijay sing for that project.

Trisha says that she will marry a person who loves animals

Trisha is now a member of People for Animal Association and is now actively participating in protecting the stray dogs. Her service has attracted the members of this association. Because of this she has been made the brand ambassador of this association. She is acting in the awareness campaign about protecting stray dogs.

Recently while speaking in a function organized by this association, she said, “I am very fond of dogs. That is why I am taking them and sheltering and taking care of them. Rich people buy foreign dogs. They think that it is their status symbol. But I am not for that. We should adopt stray dogs and bring them up. I am bringing up stray dogs.

Seeing me many should come forward to follow me. There is no point in simply talking about the safety of these animals. We should show it in action. I will marry a person who loves animals. A person who has affection on animals will have affection on the people also. Suppose if I happen to see such a person I will forcibly tell that person that I am ready to marry him.”
