Avan Ivan faces wrath; may be banned

The Singampatti Zameen is planning to take legal action against Bala and others involved in Avan Ivan for degrading their Zameen and their deity Sori Muthu. The Zameen has condemned Bala for using their names in the film, particularly that of deity Sori Muthu and the Kaaraiyar Sorimuthaiyanar Temple.

The Simgampatti community members are an angry lot for Bala ridiculed them in the film. Further, the scene in which the Singampatti Zameen is stripped and killed has forced the members of Singampatti to seek deletion of those particular scenes.

It is said that they are making all arrangements to file a case seeking a ban on Avan Ivan. Wonder what Bala has to say!

Vishal’s award winning performance in Avan Ivan!

Whenever there is an outing from director Bala, the expectations will be on peak and the success of the film is confirmed. Avan Ivan opened up yesterday with almost 700 prints worldwide and has took bumper opening at all centers.

Though there is not much of promotion for the film audiences hooked onto the film as its the film of Bala, Vishal and Arya. The film received positive response as Vishal’s acting was outstanding and many opined that Vishal will surely bag the National Award for Best Actor for 2011. His acting skills are incomparable to his other outings and Bala has brought out the real actor out of him. Vishal made a daring attempt by looking like a squint eyed boy and he did a lot of hard work for attaining this look. In fact to shoot his scene the entire team has to wait nearly for half an hour for setting his eye ball perfectly.

But the feedback heard straight from the audiences after the show in a public opinion was that the film runs short off story, the film during the second half is dragging, the editing should have been done in a much qualitative way and many felt that Bala’s typical style of making is missing.

On the other side some audiences loved the film as it is different experience watching a different film.
