AR Rahman's Father RK Sekar
Rajagopala Kulasekhara Mudaliyar Shekhar was a Tamil Indian music composer, who worked for Malayalam and Tamil Movies. He composed music for 52 films, and was the music conductor for more than 100 films.
His debut song was Chotta muthal chudala vare ("from birth to grave") which was a big hit in Kerala. This was composed for the film Pazhassi Raja (1964).
R. K. Shekhar was married to Kasthuri. They had three children, among them composer A. R. Rahman. Shekhar died at the age of 43. He was a really popular music director and also a really loving father. Even though Shekhar died at an early age he is still a legend in the Malayalam Music Industry.
