Sam Anderson and lots of girls

Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani will have the ‘dance specialist’, Sam Anderson in its cast. The ‘Rasathi Asai Rasathi’ fame actor shot for the film recently. The director of the film posted a photo of the actor posing with a group of girls. The photo suggests that Sam Anderson might be shooting for a song sequence, and we surely can expect some ‘amazing’ moves from the actor.

Sam is also part of Krishnan Jayaraj’s Sonna Puriyadhu, starring Shiva and Vasundhara Kashyap. He appears as a producer of a certain game show in the film.

Bharath’s love affair

In the recent pictures circulated around the web, we had seen Bharath sweating it out, shaping up his body in an attempt to shape up his career. The hard working actor has just finished shooting for Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu, directed by Sasi. The movie is expected to be released soon.

Amidst his busy shooting schedules and his incessant workout sessions, there were a few talks about Bharath being involved in a secret love affair with a popular actress. In a recent press release by Bharath, this is what he had to say.

"I am upset after hearing the rumours. I kindly request the people not to believe in such gossip and rumours. I have completed shoot for 555 and have signed up for a Bollywood movie. I am completely focusing on my career right now and do not want to be pulled back by rumours such as this. I am not in love with anybody. My parents are in the lookout for a suitable alliance for me. I do not have any idea about it though"

The Bollywood movie mentioned by Bharath is titled ‘Jackpot’, directed by Kaizad Gustad. The movie is apparently a romantic thriller. Sunny Leone would be acting opposite Bharath in the film.

Breaking: After the Singam miss, Vijay and Hari plan another big roar

The Tamil industry has for long been wanting Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Director Hari to work together as they are seen as a duo, which would prospectively create wonders at the box-office. With Vijay's big mass fan following and Hari's scripts which are tailor-made for mass entertainment, a film bringing these two together is obviously expected to rake in the moolah, big time.

Vijay was supposed to work with Hari in Singam but it later went to Suriya and the rest, as they say, is history. Now, we hear that Hari and Vijay have again held discussions with each other on a new script. These are still early days though. Sources close to both the star and the director have confirmed that talks are going on but nothing has been confirmed yet.

With the Aadi month coming to an end in the middle of August, a big announcement may be expected anytime after that. A potential box-office monster is lurking as Hari and Vijay look to join hands for the first time. Stay tuned ...

I am not dead yet, says actress Kanaka

Squashing rumours of her death, well-known southern actress Kanaka Mahalakshmi said “I’m not dead yet.”

On Tuesday, it was reported that Kanaka, who was undergoing treatment at the Palliative Care Hospital in Alappuzha, Kerala, for cancer, had died after the treatment failed to cure the disease.

Late in the evening, Kanaka called a press conference at her residence here to clarify rumours about her death.

“I’m not dead yet as I have been quoted by some media channels. I’m perfectly healthy. I don’t have cancer and neither have I had the scare! The last time I was in Kerala, it was in 1992 when I was shooting for a Malayalam film. I’m very much alive! These are nothing but speculations,” Kanaka said.

The actress added that the report of her death was not a publicity stunt either.

“I don’t think anyone would fake their death, not even film stars. I have stayed away from cinema for personal reasons, but I’m likely to return soon. I have been getting offers, but I’m waiting for the perfect role,” she said.

Kanaka, who rose to fame with 1989 Tamil blockbuster debut Karakattakaran, is the daughter of yesteryear actress Devika. Since her mother died in 2002, Kanaka has stayed away from film industry. In the Malayalam film industry, Kanaka has worked with superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal.

In fact, Shaji Kailas’ 2000 hit film Narasimham saw her sharing the screen space with the both the actors. Her other Malayalam films include Vietnam Colony, Golanthara Vartha and Pingami. She is known for several hit films such as Godfather, Periya Kudumbam and Jallikattu Kalai.

Yuvan ropes in 4 music directors

For the first time in Tamil cinema, four leading music directors, GV Prakash, Thaman, Vijay Antony and Imman, have come together to sing a song. The song Thirumbi Va is for Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani, which has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Director Venkat Prabhu says, "It is a motivational song that has been written by my dad Gangai Amaran.

I wanted to make Biriyani, Yuvan's 100th film, a memorable one for him. So I decided to bring four popular music directors on board for it. It was possible just because all four of them were so sweet to accept the offer for Yuvan. They came in for the recording at 8 pm and completed the song by 1 am. All those hours were nothing but just fun."

He adds, "It will be a montage song in the film. But, I'd like to shoot a music video of this song, appreciating the gestures of all the four music directors."
