Action hero Ramki to act with Venkat Prabhu!
Yesteryear action hero Ramki whom Tamil film lovers might best recall for being adept with the skill of Martial arts and high flying stunts will be the latest addition to Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani. Sources say that he will be playing an important role in the film which has Karthi and Hansika as the leads.
Over the last couple of decades, the actor underwent an image makeover of sorts as he played roles of a family man in films made by Rama Naryanan and other devotional films. Besides action, Ramki has also made a name for himself in the comic segments too.
It will be interesting to see which of these skills director Venkat Prabhu will tap from this seasoned performer.

The movie stars the multi-talented Vassan and Devika Raghavkrishnan who plays the lead roles in the movie. Besides, the people behind the movie has roped in numerous actors from the Malaysian Tamil industry such as Rude Mack, KS Maniam, Sasi, Sam, Michael Rao, Ganesan, Sangkari, LOG and few more to play important roles. The music was scored by Jose Franklin, while RK Prathap, who previously worked with KV Anand as assistant cameraman for Kollywood blockbuster movies such as KO, Sivaji, Ayan did the camerawork. Shubha Phutela was considered for Ram and Bommarillu Bhaskar's movie but the actress opted out due to the health issues. 7aum arivu and Vazhakku En 18/9 Selected Nominees for the Oscar Awards..
Suriya starred and Shruthi Haasan’s debut film 7am Arivu and Lingusamy’s Vazhaku Enn 18/9 are been nominated from Kollywood by Films Federation as part of the Oscar Nominees.
It was earlier all the directors use to wait to see their films atleast get the stage to be either nominees for the Oscar awards. Now the Films Federation has selected a set of movies from different languages from India and set for the final decision that is to be taken, after the final screening of these films.
Films Federation will be in Hyd from Sep 18-26 to select one movie from the list and will be sent as an official entry for Oscar Awards, in the category of ‘Best Foreign Language’ movie.
Interestingly Eega, the Telugu version of Naan Ee is been also selected as the Nominee, along with Deol [Marathi], Aakashinte Niram [Malayalam], Kaahani [Hindi], Barfi [Hindi], Heroine [Hindi], Ferrari Ki Sawaari [Hindi], Gangs of Wasseypur [Hindi], Dirty Picture [Hindi] and Paan Tomar Singh [Hindi].
Breaking News: Actor Power Star Arrested!!
Dr. Srinivasan otherwise famously known as Powerstar was arrested this afternoon for alleged fraud. Reports say that the actor has invited investors to pump money into his ventures and is now unable to repay them as per the proposed terms. It is reported that he is currently being detained and interrogated at the Kilpauk police station.

Simbu joins Power Star!
Simbu has joined the Santhanam-Power Star project Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya! Yes, the star will be seen dancing along with Power Star Sreenivasan and Santhanam in this film adding more glamour to the project.
Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya is directed by Manikandan and produced jointly by Santhanam and Rama Narayanan. It is touted to be a remake of the Bagyaraj yesteryear hit Indru Poi Naalai Vaa.
Thaman is said to have come out with a peppy tune for this song which will feature Simbu, Santhanam and Power Star say sources in the tinsel town.
GV Prakash reveals about his wedding plans
GV Prakash has said that he will wed his lady love and playback singer Saindhavi early next year. The young musician said that there were a lot of opposition initially to this wedding but everything has been sorted out now and the arrangements to tie the knot are happening full swing.
Adding that his busy schedule is keeping off his marriage, GV Prakash said that he will complete all the tasks on hands before taking time off for the wedding.
Simbu asks the media to stop it!
Simbu has asked the media to stop writing and speculating about Manamadhan 2. There are rumors doing rounds that Simbu is working on the script and he is planning to either rope in the Oscar winner AR Rahman or the Kolaveri fame Anirudh to score the music for this film.
Reacting to this news, Simbu has requested the media to stop writing about Manmadhan 2 as he is busy penning the script and will be able to decide on the cast and crew only after the work is done.

Dhanush takes up a social cause
For the first time in his career, Dhanush will be acting in a film that is based on a social awareness. Thus far, Dhanush was seen in love-based subjects and action films.
In Mariyaan, directed by Bharat Bala, Dhanush plays a man fighting for the cause of the fishermen living in coastal hamlets. Bharat Bala is planning to shoot the film not just in coastal areas in India but abroad as well.

Dog bites actress Anushka Shetty
Anushka was at a party when she was bitten by a dog. The actress, on seeing the dog eating into a tissue paper, tried to prevent it from gobbling it up when it bit her. Anushka was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was administered an injection and was asked to continue the dosage for the next three days.
Anushka’s kind gesture to prevent the dog from eating a tissue paper has landed her in trouble. Nevertheless the actress is happy that she had stopped the dog at the right moment.

It’s a milestone birthday for Shriya Saran as she turns 30 today. And there’s no doubt she’s in a good place right now.

Anjali turns hot property in Tamil
Looks like Anjali rules the heart of the masses, and she is very busy in Kollywood. The girl has a meaty role of a journalist in the Delhi Belly remake in UTV’s Settai starring Arya and Premgi along with others.
Her Kalakalappu was a big hit recently. Now, the good news is that the Engeyum Eppodhum star will be seen in AR Murgadoss’s next production as well, which is titled Vathikuchi.
The film marks the debut of Murugadoss’ brother, Dileepan and is set in Chennai dealing with the woes and lives of commuters who travel long distances to reach the city each day. Anjali plays the role of a girl who hangs out in malls and coffee shops in the city while Dileepan plays an auto driver.
Looks like the talent of this homegrown beauty who dubs her own lines in Tamil, has caught the attention of the biggie directors of Kollywood..
Jayam Ravi in dual role in Nimirndhu Nil!
Jayam Ravi will be seen in a dual role in Nimirndhu Nil. It will see him as a 24 year old youngster and a 48 year old middle man in the film that tracks his life from the age of five.
Amala Paul will be seen as a youngster who has completed her under graduation and is searching for a job in Nimirndhu Nil.
“Girls today have to lie a lot so as to be safe. When a girl goes out a group of 3 – 4 will follow her out of which she has to smile back at one so he will safeguard her from the others. A girl has to be a part of these lies to lead a normal life and Amala will do just that in the film”, says Samuthirakani.

Marina actor dead in road accident
In a tragic road accident that took place yesterday near the Nochikuppam Slum tenement, 16-year-old Sathish Kumar died. He was seen as a sundal vendor in Marina, directed by Pandiraj.
Sathish was riding a bicycle when the mishap occurred and he was dead on the spot after the lorry ran over his head.
Sathish was survived by his father, mother and a sister and brother. His father is a coolie while his mother is a maid servant. Sathish worked as a mechanic.
Roja out of Bharathiraja's film
Veteran director Bharathiraja had signed up Roja to play heroine Karthika’s mother in Anna Kodiyum Kodi Veeranum. The shooting of this film is fast progressing and has almost reached the final stages when Roja walked out of the project.
Sources say that Roja was not given basic facilities such as caravan and demanding such conveniences, she walked out of the project. The director immediately replaced her with Renuka and began shooting the portions, say sources close to the film unit.
Amala Paul eager to grab Vijay's film
Ilayathalapathy Vijay and director AL Vijay are all set to team up for their next venture together. This film is expected to start rolling from November onwards but the heroine is yet to be finalized.
There are a number of leading ladies in Kollywood evincing keen interest on this project as they would get to pair up with Vijay. One among the heroines is Amala Paul, who enjoys a close rapport with director AL Vijay. Since Amala Paul had acted under AL Vijay’s direction already she is confident that this role would be hers.

Settai trailer has got a massive response from fun-loving fans. The video-clipping was released recently and it has got a good number of hits on YouTube.
In fact, the trailer of Settai, which was released on September 1, has recorded 445,321 views so far and it is expected to cross the five lakh mark by today. The interesting part of the story is that it fetched 279,139 lakh hits in just 48 hours after its release.
In the recent times, Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham fetched a record-breaking hits on YouTube. It got around 5.5 lakh views, thereby breaking the record of Ajith Kumar's Billa 2 teaser, which had fetched around 5.15 lakh views in two days.
However, Settai starring Arya, Hansika Motwani, Santhanam, Anjali, Premji Amaren, Nassar and others in the cast, is a remake of Bollywood movie Delhi Belly but unlike the Hindi movie, this movie is targeted at the family audience by cutting of all the adult dialogues in the movie.
