Kamal Haasan has filmed some important scenes for Viswaroopam in Afghanistan. He had said during the press meet earlier that the film deals with terrorism and hence was shot in Afghanistan. Sources say that the actor-director wanted a huge Bohemian Buddha statue to be erected; something on the lines of the statue that was destroyed by the Taliban several years ago.
This statue apparently was very important for the script and was made exactly the way Kamal wanted it to be after conducting a thorough research on the statue that was busted.
