It has been officially announced by the makers of Ajith Kumar’s upcoming film Vedalam that the film would be releasing in theatres on 10th November on Deepavali as a ‘perfect’ Deepavali gift to his fans.
It was earlier rumoured that as Deepavali falls on a Tuesday, the makers would release the film at least four days ahead on 06th November (Friday) so as to take advantage of the weekend holidays ahead of Deepavali. It has now been confirmed that the producers would stick to the Deepavali schedule to release it on the D-Day.
Siva, who earlier made Veeram starring Ajith, has directed him for the second time in Vedalam which has Shruti Haasan as Ajith’s heroine for the first time on screen. Lakshmi Menon plays Ajith’s sister in the film which has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The shoot of the film was wrapped up in quick time and the teaser and songs were released at regular intervals.
Now that the film has been certified by the Censors with a ‘U’ certificate and without effecting any cuts, the makers have decided to release the film on 10th November. Ajith’s fans have already celebrating the film’s release and are might excited even as Ajith goes around with the aid of an elbow-crutch as he was injured during the last phase of the shoot of the film.
Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam is also releasing on the same day and is expected to give Ajith a tough fight at the box-office.
